The country musician Kid Rock believes that Donald Trump received support from artists because they ‘feel it’s safe’. He performed at Trump’s inauguration victory rally held at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., one of the glitzy events alongside Billy Ray Cyrus, Lee Greenwood, and The Village People, where he performed ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ to start the event.
In an interview with Fox News, the country singer expressed “It feels like the rebirth of our nation,” after Trump got elected the second time. There’s just this overwhelming sense … you’ve heard it a million times, that America’s back,” the ‘Devil Without A Cause’ singer added.
Rock also mentioned how Hollywood has embraced the new leader, without much resistance. “Now they feel it’s safe to go in the water after dipping their toe in it for four to eight years,” he joked. “I mean, welcome to the party, like I’ve said. Better to have them on board than not,” he added. “There’s a whole change in the air, there’s a whole shift in everything,” Kid Rock continued.
Recently, Sylvester Stallone, Jon Voight, who was also present at the rally, and Mel Gibson were declared ‘Special Ambassadors’. Trump announced on his Truth Social account, “They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”
The ‘Only God Knows Why’ singer continued, “[People] saw what he did the first time. And when you really look at the facts and the numbers and how great it was, it’s only going to be better from there. The feeling’s everywhere. Especially if you’re on our side – it’s through the roof. But I think people, all reasonable people, I feel, you know, are understanding, just if we would have got a reasonable Democrat.”
He concluded, “Like, it’s OK … we think differently on a lot of things, but if you’re a reasonable person, and I really got to stress ‘reasonable,’ because Lord knows there are some fruitcakes out there.”
