Farah Khan and her husband, editor Shirish Kunder, have been married for 20 years, though Shirish often prefers to avoid the limelight. The couple first met during the making of Farah’s directorial debut Main Hoon Na, where Shirish was the editor. Farah recently revealed that their relationship didn’t start with “love at first sight.”
In a conversation on Archana Puran Singh’s YouTube channel, Farah admitted, “I used to hate him. For six months, I thought he is gay.” Archana jokingly asked if Farah still hates Shirish, to which she replied, “No. Now, I am used to him. It’s been 20 years now.”
Farah also spoke about Shirish’s quiet way of expressing anger, calling it “torturous.” She shared, “Earlier, he used to get angry. And when he did, it was very annoying because he would just keep quiet and torture you by not talking.”
When asked about who apologizes first after a fight, Farah revealed, “No one says sorry. Shirish has never apologized to me in 20 years because he is never wrong.” She humorously added, “If I glance at my phone while he’s talking, he’ll just walk out.”
Farah also reflected on a hurtful remark made by a friend before her wedding. On Moving In With Malaika, she shared, “A friend of mine said, ‘No, I won’t attend Farah’s wedding, but I’ll attend the second one.’ I thought that was quite b*tchy.”
Farah and Shirish have built a strong partnership over the years. The couple are proud parents to triplets – Czar, Diva and Anya.
