Mukesh Khanna recently dismissed rumours suggesting he claimed to be better than Ranveer Singh for the role. He called the idea ‘stupid’ and clarified that he has no intentions of reprising his role as Shaktimaan in the future.
In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Mukesh responded to the rumors by expressing disbelief at the suggestion that he claimed to be better than Ranveer Singh for the role. He emphasized that if he were meant to reprise the role, he would have started the project two years ago, as he had the availability and dates for it.
When asked about the press conference incident where he told the audience to be quiet, Mukesh Khanna explained that he had scolded them to stay calm, asking them to step outside if needed. He also pointed out that the media reported he was angry, admitting that, indeed, he does get angry.Reflecting on the time when news often reported children getting hurt or even dying in the name of Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna recalled how, around the year 2000, there would be a new incident every 15 days, with children falling, getting injured, or losing their lives while attempting stunts inspired by the show.
Khanna shared that he hired a detective agency to investigate the incidents. He also received support from Rajesh Sharma, who expressed feeling helpless. Khanna mentioned trying to track down a child involved in a fire incident, where it was claimed the child set the fire to emulate Shaktimaan and rescue someone.

He also revealed that when he caught the child involved in the fire incident, he discovered it was due to other reasons, not Shaktimaan’s influence. However, the incident was falsely linked to the character. He expressed frustration that someone used his name, leading him to fight a six-month-long legal battle.
Debuting in 1997 on Doordarshan, Shaktimaan became one of India’s most iconic superhero series. With over 450 episodes, it garnered immense popularity and remains a nostalgic classic, leaving a lasting impact on generations of viewers.
