Hrithik Roshan celebrates his birthday today and the actor has completed 25 years in the industry. His debut film ‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai‘ is re-releasing in cinemas again today and Hrithik is a bundle of nerves. The actor was present at an event on Thursday, to launch the trailer of the documentary on his family, ‘The Roshans’. He spoke about the re-release of his first film and said, “I am so afraid the film is releasing again. People will go after 25 years and think, arre yaar pachis saal pehle hum kya soch rahe the, aisa kuch nahi hai (what were we thinking twenty-five years ago, it’s nothing as we remember).”
Meanwhile, on his birthday, an old video of the actor has gone viral on the internet. This was during a chat with Film Companion. Hrithik was asked if he has agreed to play a difficult character which is far from him, and does he have a method to that. This was a question asked by a fan who was sitting in the audience. Reacting to it, Hrithik said, “I did a film called Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.” He took a long pause after saying it and the audience burst into a laughter. He then smiled, “So that says it all.”
The actor further added, “I was not mature enough to understand that side of me. I generally don’t gravitate toward characters that are that far away in essence. A very happy a very uppity ‘Wo ho ah ah’ all that doesn’t come very naturally to me and at that point in time, I wasn’t aware of the fact that there are some things that are not natural to your state. Even if you tried really hard, which I did, you would still fail. But I tried, I gave it my best shot. Have you seen the film.”
‘Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon‘ directed by Sooraj Barjatya starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Abhishek Bachchan as well, along with Hrithik. Over the years, the film has become a centre point of many memes today and Hrithik, Kareena have largely received criticism for their over-acting in the movie which is now considered quite funny and hugely entertaining.
