Abhijeet Bhattacharya known for a long list of the most popular songs of the 90s and 2000s is known to always be very vocal about his views. The singer who is largely associated with many songs of Shah Rukh Khan, has said in an interview recently that a singer’s voice is instantly recalled even in a flop movie. But people do not sometimes recall a film’s hero if it’s a flop.
Thus he further gave an example of Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Besharam’. Abhijeet had crooned a song ‘Dil Ka Joh Haal Hai‘ for the movie. Abhijeet said in an interview with Bollywood Thikana, “Thank God, I am not a singer of this era. I sang a song, Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai, in a super flop film. The song wasn’t a hit. No one knows about the song’s film. However, if you play the song, you would know who sang it.”
He added, “Even if the floppiest song plays, people would know whose song it is, and not the hero or film attached to it. The property belongs to the music company. They have the rights and we don’t get royalty. However, everyone has ears and the voice that goes to the ear and heart is mine.”
While talking about Ranbir, Abhijeet criticised that he was invited for the opening of Ram Mandir. Though, he did not take his name. “When Ram Mandir was inaugurated, a person who eats beef was invited, aur aap Gau Mata karahe hain.”
In this interview, he also spoke about his rift with Shah Rukh Khan and said, “We aren’t fighting. But the situation is being made worse because of these puny trolls who insist on butting into a matter concerning legends.”
