The highly acclaimed sequel, Moana 2’ has crossed over $911 million worldwide at the box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of 2024. However, the release date for the digital release has not yet been confirmed by the producers.
According to the recent film schedules, the producers give a 100-day exclusive theatrical window between the cinematic and digital release. The dates turn out to be March 6, 2024. As with the previous releases, Disney has continuously chosen Wednesday as the release day. Hence, the audience can expect the film to stream on the OTT platform from March 12, 2025. Typically, Disney movies are made available to buy digitally after two months of the theatrical release. So, the audience can watch Moana’s journey to the far seas of Oceania on their screens from January 2025, according to the reports by Digital Spy.
When addressing the sequel – it was supposed to be a Disney+ show. But then again, how could one not go to theatres to watch Loto and Maui, alongside the emotional storyline of self-discovery? ‘Moana 2’ was released in the theatres on November 29, 2024, in India. This strategy attracted the audience in the cinema halls. The producers should be surely proud of this decision as the movie is about to cross $ 1 billion worldwide.
