Emerging from an interesting rise through the Indian film industry, Pankaj Tripathi recently spoke about a very moving experience that involved going back to Patna hotel, one he used to work in before his acting career kicked off. Speaking emotionally to Lallantop, Pankaj shared about the stark difference between his humble origins and his present-day success, something that recently really moved him on his trip back home.
Pankaj, recalled how he used to enter the hotel through the back door when he worked as a youth. “I used to enter the hotel from the back gate, from where the staff used to enter. Today, I got to enter from the main gate, and the General Manager was there to welcome me. It made me so emotional.” he said emotionally.
The actor, said he met 15 of the hotel staff people who had worked with him at one point in time when he was not so famous, and how they reminisced about their times with him. Actor Vikrant Massey accompanying him to the event also listened to those stories, which speaks volumes about the great bonding Pankaj still sustains with his roots.
Every visit to Patna brings a flood of memories that Pankaj had from his early struggles in life. He said that any such moment reminds him of how important hard work and perseverance are in making dreams come true. He also mentioned that whenever he visits Patna, all his memories from young days flash in front of him and it only solidifies his belief that everything is possible in life. With sincerity and hard work, you can achieve all your dreams.
Earlier, on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, Pankaj shared how he managed to balance a job and passion for acting during his early days. He used to work at night shifts in the hotel kitchen while doing theatre the entire day. “I used to work in a hotel kitchen at night and do theatre in the morning. After finishing my night shift, I would come back, sleep for five hours, then do theatre from 2-7 pm, and again work in the hotel from 11 pm to 7 am. I did this for two years,” he recalled. And then there’s this humorous anecdote where actor Manoj Bajpayee had once stayed in the same hotel; Pankaj took away his slippers as a souvenir.
Coming from an average small town background, Pankaj Tripathi has journeyed and traveled to become such a big-star actor. With powerful performances, he has received immense appreciation for the role in ‘Stree 2‘, fame emerging from his breakthrough performance in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur‘.
