India is best known for its hospitality and sweet warm gestures. And when the Indian Prime Minister met Elon Musk and his three kids, he made sure to carry the same legacy.
Prime Minister Modi met tech billionaire Elon Musk, along with his partner Shivon Zilis and their twins, Azure and Strider, and his son X (from his previous relationship) at Blair House in Washington. As a gesture of humbleness and goodwill, the PM made sure to carry very thoughtful gifts for Elon Musk’s children. He gifted Elon’s children three timeless classics of Indian literature: ‘The Great RK Narayan Collection’, ‘The Crescent Moon’ by Rabindranath Tagore, and “Panchatantra” by Pandit Vishnu Sharma.
Sharing images from the meeting on his official X handle, PM Modi said, “It was also a delight to meet Mr Elon Musk’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects”.

Though all the books are counted among the best reads, ‘The Great RK Narayan Collection’ stands out. RK Narayan and his work around the fictional town of Malgudi has been engaging and entertaining generations for decades. The mere mention of his book takes us to his most remarkable work – ‘Malgudi Days.’
First aired in 1986, ‘Malgudi Days’ is a classic Indian series based on R.K. Narayan’s short stories. Directed by Kannada filmmaker Shankar Nag, it very beautifully captured the essence of small-town life in the fictional town of Malgudi. The series was known for showing the everyday struggles, dreams, and emotions of ordinary people. The relatable content made it a timeless favorite.
Further, the show’s simple yet powerful narratives, when blended with rustic charm, caught generations under its spell. The character Swami and his friends left an indelible mark on the hearts.
Thus, as PM Modi gifted RK Narayan’s book to Elon Musk’s children, it felt like he gave a piece of every Indian’s childhood. He passed on a culturally rich literary gem that has tales resonating with people across generations.
