Prithviraj Sukumaran set expectations for his next film, ‘L2: Empuraan’, starring Mohanlal, by unveiling a thrilling teaser a few days ago. In a recent interview, the actor-director spoke about the Prabhas-starrer ‘Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam’.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Prithviraj confirmed ‘Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam’ and added that director Prashanth Neel is currently busy working on another project. “Once that is done, we will all get together for Salaar 2,” he added.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar part 1 is set in the fictional city named, Khansaar and the story is around the friendship between Deva played by Prabhas an exiled prince, and Varadha portrayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the current prince of Khansaar. The plot unfolds as Varadha seeks Deva’s help to thwart a coup de tat planned by his father’s ministers and relatives, aiming to solidify his position as the ruler of Khansaar.
‘Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam’ is a highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 box office hit, ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’. The film featured Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. The action flick narrated the story of a deep friendship between Deva and Varadha, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj, respectively.
The film’s end card in theatres confirmed a second part, which is expected to be released in 2026, although an official date is yet to be announced.
On the work front, Prabhas is busy shooting for his next film, tentatively titled ‘Fauji’, with director Hanu Raghavapudi. There are rumours about Prabhas portraying a British Indian Army officer in the film. His horror-comedy ‘The Raja Saab’, directed by Maruthi, will soon hit theatres, and the Rebel Star will also collaborate with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for ‘Spirit’ and Nag Ashwin for ‘Kalki 2898 AD Part 2‘.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj is gearing up for the release of ‘L2: Empuraan’, the second instalment in the Lucifer trilogy. The film is set to hit theatres on March 2. The movie stars Mohanlal in the lead role.
