Defending champion Punjab along with Delhi marched into the men’s basketball semifinals of the 38th National Games after posting their second win in the league phase here on Thursday.

In the women’s section, favourite Kerala, Punjab (from Group A), Tamil Nadu and Karnataka (from Group B) have made the last-four stage after their second win in their respective group.

In swimming at Haldwani, Delhi’s Kushagra Rawat bettered his own men’s 1500m freestyle Games record set at the last edition in Goa in 2023.

The results: Basketball (league phase): Men: Punjab bt Rajasthan 106-72; Tamil Nadu bt Uttarakhand 123-54; Services bt Karnataka 71-61.

Women: Kerala bt Uttarakhand 90-40; Karnataka bt Chhattisgarh 94-43; Punjab bt UP 72-69; Tamil Nadu bt Delhi 86-52.

Swimming results (at Haldwani, winners only): Men: 1500m freestyle: Kushagra Rawat (Del) 15:37.79s MR, OR 15:38.73. 200m breaststroke: S. Danush (TN) 2:19.68s. 4x100m medley: Karnataka (3:46.86s).

Women: 400m medley: Saanvi Deshwal (Mah) 5:08.49s. 200m breaststroke: Harshitha Jayaram (Ker) 2:42.38s.
