It appears that Drake has seemingly moved on from his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar. On Friday, the 38-year-old Canadian rapper released ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ in collaboration with PartyNextDoor, wherein he referenced his ‘rap beef’ with Lamar.

In his latest track ‘Gimme a Hug,’ Drake seemingly addresses his past feuds. The rap begins with, “Drake elimination, fake intimidation,” which allegedly is a response to Kanye West. For the unversed, according to Variety, last year West said he wished for Drake’s “elimination” as a top artist.
Further, the rap states, “You Neo in the matrix, these n—– just Nemo in the ocean.” Another highlight is Drake’s hoodie adorned with fake bullet holes to an Australia show. Media reports state that the selected outfit was a reference that despite all the shots taken at him, the artist is still alive.
Last but not least, the track ends with, “F*** a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit,” which allegedly was a message to Kendrick Lamar. This comes almost a week after Lamar famously smiled directly at the camera while namedropping Drake during his Super Bowl performance.

After the launch of his latest album, Drake’s fans quickly voiced their opinions. A significant number expressed disappointment with his first major release since 2023’s For All The Dogs. According to Mirror, a Reddit user chimed in and said, “Outside of maybe 2-3 songs the rest is Zzz.”
“It’s meh it has some good tracks and mostly just bland tracks. He needs to edit his albums a lot better because as it stands it’s really just samey samey and uninspired for the majority of the run time,” read a post by another fan.
