Ranveer Allahbadia has been in the news for his remarks on Samay Raina‘s show ‘India’s Got Latent‘. The Youtuber asked a contestant on the show, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” This particular episode also featured influencers Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.
An FIR was filed against all of them, thus, the police has now recorded statement of 7 people in this case, according to PTI. While Apoorva was spotted at the Khar police station on Wednesday to record her statement, Ranveer is expected to appear before the city police in a day or two. A team of the Assam Police is in also Mumbai to investigate a case in connection with the controversy, an official said. The Guwahati Police on Monday registered a case against Allahbadia and four others.
The cyber police has also registered an FIR in the case and issued notices to all the influencers involved in this particular episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’. The National Commission for Women have asked Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh and Ashish Chanchlani, as well as the show’s producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra to appear before them in New Delhi on February 17.
Meanwhile, Samay has issued an apology and said that he has removed all the episodes of his show now. He also stated that he will co-operate with the police. He wrote, “‘Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.'”
Ranveer has also dropped a video apologising for his statement.
