Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Ahmed Khan is known for his high-energy dance sequences and action-packed storytelling. His journey in the industry began as a child actor in the 1987 cult classic ‘Mr. India‘. Over the years, he transitioned into choreography, crafting iconic moves in films like ‘Rangeela‘ (1995) before making his directorial debut with ‘Lakeer’ (2004).
Ahmed Khan has worked closely with some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, including Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar. In a recent interview, he spoke about his deep friendship with Akshay.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Ahmed reminisced about his long-standing friendship with Akshay, which began in 1993 before Rangeela. He recalled choreographing a small sequence for Akshay in Suhag when he was just 18. Akshay encouraged him and played a pivotal role in his early career. After Rangeela, Ahmed collaborated with Akshay on numerous songs, working continuously with his support. He also acknowledged the backing of stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan during his early years, which helped establish his career in Bollywood.
“After Rangeela, I did multiple songs with Akshay. I worked non-stop with him, and all these people supported me. Shah Rukh backed me a lot when I started, and Aamir, of course, was in Rangeela. So, that phase continued,” he shared.
Surprisingly, Ahmed also revealed his close bond with Sunny Deol. He recalled his early experience choreographing Sunny in ‘Aang Rakshak’, where he was an assistant. Sunny appreciated his teaching style, which led to a strong bond between them. Impressed by Ahmed’s choreography, Sunny insisted that only he would handle his dance sequences. Later, Ahmed made Sunny perform hip-hop in ‘Zor’, which surprised the actor himself. Their collaboration continued, with Ahmed choreographing for Sunny’s directorial projects like ‘Dillagi’ and others.
