Ameesha Patel has charmed audiences with her talent and on-screen presence. She gained immense recognition with her debut in ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai'(2000), which became a major success, and further solidified her place in the industry with ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ (2001), a film that went on to become a historic blockbuster.
Recently, in an interview, Ameesha Patel recalled a striking incident from the sets of Humraaz (2002), particularly how fans reacted violently to Bobby Deol during the film’s climax sequence.

Did you know fans yelled at Bobby Deol for hugging Ameesha Patel in ‘Humraaz’ saying ‘chor isko ye tere bhai ki amanat hai’?

In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress recounted the scene where they were shooting the climax of Humraaz in Jaipur at a fort. That particular side of the fort had been cordoned off because many onlookers and random people had gathered to watch the shooting. They were eager to see Bobby Deol, Ameesha, and Akshaye Khanna.
One particular moment left a lasting impression on her. When Bobby Deol’s character threw away his gun and embraced hers, the audience responded with great passion, shouting, “What are you doing? Ye toh teri bhai ki amaanat hai, woh uske liye pump ukhad ke laaya hai Pakistan se.” The intensity of their reaction momentarily took her and Bobby by surprise.
Ameesha reflected on the strong emotional connection audiences formed with her and Sunny Deol’s characters, Tara and Sakina, from ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. She expressed her admiration for how deeply fans embraced their on-screen personas, treating them as part of their own lives. According to Ameesha, this enduring love is what led to the creation of a sequel. She highlighted the beauty of how fans often merge reel and real life.
‘Humraaz’, directed by Abbas-Mustan, was met with both critical and commercial success.
