Ameesha Patel, who debuted with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, has shared her thoughts on the superstar debate. She believes that Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Kartik Aaryan are the ‘last of the superstars.’
In a conversation with India Today, Ameesha shared that after Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Kartik Aaryan are the ones continuing the legacy of superstars. She expressed concern about the future of Bollywood, as she feels they may be the last to carry that status.
The actress also mentioned that when big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, or Hrithik Roshan release a film, there’s a high expectation for it to match their past successes. However, she acknowledged that it’s unrealistic for every film to be a huge hit, as such success is rare.
Patel praised the current generation of actors, mentioning that Kartik Aaryan is fabulous, Ayushmann Khurrana has done exceptional work, and Rajkummar Rao has broken the mold to become a mainstream hero. She also highlighted Shraddha Kapoor for her great work in recent times.
She also mentioned that Ayushmann Khurrana has taken bold steps, such as playing a bald man or dressing as a woman, and made them work. Similarly, she praised Kartik Aaryan for consistently delivering hits and acknowledged both actors for taking risks and making them successful.
Ameesha Patel made a strong return with Gadar 2, starring opposite Sunny Deol. The film not only broke records but also set new benchmarks at the box office.
