R Madhavan, who is known for his versatile performances, recently opened up about his financial choices, admitting that he has never been money-conscious. During an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor revealed, “I wish I was. My net worth would have been much higher than what it is.”
Madhavan shared that he prioritizes experiences over wealth, often spending without hesitation. “I never see how much a new experience costs. I just want to do it. Bahut se fizool me paise udaaye hain (I have splurged a lot needlessly). But for an actor, that is necessary. It is because of all those experiences that I have been able to become an actor today.”
He also reflected on the stark contrast between his generation and that of his parents when it comes to honesty and righteousness. According to him, integrity was the foundation of their pride and existence. “You take that away, and their ego is shattered. That is what gives them strength,” he explained, noting that these values influenced his character in his new film Hisaab Barabar.
Despite being a fun-loving person, Madhavan finds it amusing that people often perceive him as intimidating. “I don’t know why, but I have been told more than once that I have an aura that makes people nervous on set,” he said with a laugh.
Directed by Ashwini Dhir, Hisaab Barabar revolves around a common man’s mission to expose a private bank scam. The film, also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kirti Kulhari, and Rashami Desai in pivotal roles.
