Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa 2: The Rule continued its impressive run well into its 53rd day at the box office, maintaining its grip over the ticket windows. The film that marked its eighth week at the box office over the Republic Day weekend, managed to score a win in a face-off against Ram Charan‘s Game Changer.
According to early estimates on Sacnilk, while Pushpa 2 managed to sail past the Rs 1 crore mark, Game Changer had a hard time reaching the mark, while just being in its third week. According to the reports, Pushpa 2 earned approximately Rs 1.75 crore net in its eighth weekend, in contrast, Charan’s film which garnered around Rs 87 lakh in its third weekend.
As of January 27, Pushpa 2 has amassed a staggering Rs 1232.30 crore in India, solidifying its position as one of the highest-grossing Indian films to date.
Meanwhile, Game Changer, which debuted on January 10, 2025, has accumulated an estimated Rs 129.67 crore over 17 days.
Game Changer, featuring an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, S. J. Suryah, Nassar, Brahmanandam, Vennela Kishore, and Murali Sharma, has faced stiff competition from recent releases. Notably, Akshay Kumar‘s Sky Force and Kangana Ranaut‘s Emergency have drawn significant audience attention, impacting its box office performance.
Despite a strong opening, Game Changer experienced a decline in collections, struggling to maintain momentum against these new releases. In contrast, Pushpa 2 seems to be sailing through, and looking forward to end its box office run on a high, by becoming the third-highest-earning Indian film of all time, only behind Baahubali 2 and Dangal. The film has also secured its spot as one of the highest-earning Hindi releases to date, scoring over Rs 800 crore.
Meanwhile, both films face added competition at the box office next weekend with the release of Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva’.
