On Saturday evening, Deepika Padukone made her first official appearance post the birth of her and Ranveer Singh’s daughter Dua. She walked the ramp on the 25th anniversary of ace designer Sabyasachi wearing a white outfit. White seems to be her favourite colour, as years back, when she met Shah Rukh Khan for the first time, she had specially stopped to buy herself a white salwar kameez.
It has been 17 years since Deepika Padukone graced the silver screen with her debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om.This collaboration marked the beginning of a beautiful professional relationship, with the two later working together on hits like Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan.

She revealed that when director Farah Khan called to discuss the project, she initially thought it was a prank. Unaware of the magnitude of what was unfolding, Deepika went along, not fully grasping the impact this meeting would have on her life. Deepika shared that her excitement was tinged with nervousness. Having grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Chopra’s iconic films, she had a certain image of him in her mind. To prepare for their first meeting, she meticulously planned how she wanted to present herself. She decided on a classic look, inspired by the grace and elegance of characters she’d seen in movies. She envisioned herself wearing a white salwar kameez with her hair left open and straight. Determined to make a good impression, Deepika stepped out and purchased a beautiful chikankari white salwar kameez for the occasion.
