Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s love story stands out as one of the Bollywood’s most iconic romances till date. Their journey began in 2008 when the two were on the sets of ‘Tashan,’ where sparks flew between them. At the time, Kareena was in a relationship with Shahid Kapoor, but her bond with Saif grew stronger on set, ultimately marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
In an earlier interview with Niranjan Iyer, Kareena shared that she took the initiative in their relationship. She recalled, “I knew I had to push the right buttons because Saif wasn’t the type to make the first move. He’s quite reserved and has this British sense of restraint.”
Kareena revealed how Saif reacted when she expressed her feelings. She said that he was taken aback and couldn’t believe what she was saying, repeatedly asking her “Why?”
“I’m not sure if he thought he was lucky or simply shocked, but it all worked out beautifully in the end. I take full credit for starting things,” said Kareena.
The couple dated for several years before tying the knot on October 16, 2012, in an intimate ceremony. Today, they are proud parents to two sons Taimur Ali Khan, born in 2016, and Jehangir Ali Khan, born in 2021.
Recently, Saif was in the news over a harrowing incident when he was stabbed during a robbery at his Mumbai home. The terrifying event unfolded in the early hours of January 16. The actor reportedly intervened, leading to a violent altercation with an armed intruder.
During the struggle, Saif sustained six stab wounds for which he had to seek immediate medical attention and even underwent surgery. After receiving medical care, Saif has now returned home and has recorded his statement with the police who are investigating the case.
