Director Sukumar’s magnum opus Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, completed its 50th day at the Indian box office.
The film had an extraordinary run and earned an estimated Rs 1230.55 crore at the Indian box office. According to Sacnilk.com, the film which has been ruling the ticket windows since its release, earned an estimated Rs 50 lakh on Thursday, thus completing its 7th week at the box office with a total of Rs 5.85 crore.
Pushpa 2 made a splash at the box office on its opening week, earning Rs 725.8 crore. However, over the following weeks, it saw a sharp decline in numbers, earning around Rs 264.8 in week 2, Rs 129.5 crore in week 3, Rs 69.65 crore in week 4, Rs 25.25 in week 5 and Rs 9.7 in week 6. According to reports, the film’s Hindi dubbed version has contributed significantly to the box office numbers, thus helping it shatter records. With over Rs 800 crore earned from its Hindi version alone and surpassing Rs 1800 crore globally, Pushpa 2 has not only redefined success but also set an new benchmark in Indian cinema.
The production house, Mythri Movie Makers, took to their official Twitter handle to celebrate the 50-day milestone. “50 iconic days of Pushpa 2: The Rule in theatres. Indian cinema’s industry hit rewrote many records and set new benchmarks at the box office. Book your tickets today to enjoy the reloaded version,” they wrote.
The film received an added boost to its numbers when the makers released a special Reloaded Version on January 17, featuring an additional 20 minutes of footage, which boosted the film’s popularity and revenue.
Directed by Sukumar, the film stars Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. It revolves around Pushpa’s rise to power as the leader of a syndicate dealing in the illegal red sandalwood trade.
The three-part saga has captivated audiences with its compelling storytelling, powerful performances, and grand visuals.
