Singer Sonu recently criticised the songs he sang for the movie ‘Yuvvraaj,’ which starred Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. He worked on the album with famous music composer AR Rahman, but Sonu said he didn’t like the songs at all.
During an interview with O2 India, Sonu was asked about his experience working on the song ‘Shano Shano‘ from the movie ‘Yuvvraaj.’ He admitted that he didn’t think the song was very good and preferred not to discuss it further. When questioned about the other songs he recorded for the same album, Sonu stated that he believed the entire album was of poor quality.
The iconic song ‘Jai Ho,’ composed by AR Rahman and famously featured in ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ originally found its roots in Subhash Ghai‘s film ‘Yuvraaj.’ Ghai revealed that ‘Jai Ho‘ was indeed composed for his film, but he ultimately decided against using it. He felt the song’s gentle and subtle nature didn’t align with the aggressive character of Zayed Khan, who was initially envisioned to perform it. Recognizing its potential, Rahman later offered the song to ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ where it achieved global acclaim, culminating in an Academy Award.
Meanwhile, AR Rahman won two Oscars for his work on Slumdog Millionaire. He won Best Original Song for ‘Jai Ho’ and Best Original Score at the 81st Academy Awards.
