Comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav, and choreographer Remo D’Souza are reported to have received death threats via email, according to several reports.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Lizelle D’Souza, Remo’s wife, dismissed the reports of death threats, stating that they are false. She clarified that they received spam emails on their company email ID regarding unrelated matters, which they reported to the police. The cyber department is currently investigating and believes it to be spam.
Lizelle explained that the police are investigating the situation and assured that there is no cause for concern. She expressed uncertainty about why the reports linked to death threats emerged, suggesting that the media might have misinterpreted the situation. Lizelle noted that the spam emails could have been intended for someone else and mistakenly combined with other incidents.
When asked about whether the spam emails contained any life threats, Lizelle clarified that they did not. She mentioned that several spam emails were being circulated and were likely sent to multiple people. It is believed that the situation might have been misinterpreted or linked to another email.
An email sent to Rajpal Yadav from someone named Vishnu allegedly threatened to kill Kapil Sharma, his family, associates, and Yadav. Following this, Yadav’s wife filed a complaint at the Amboli Police Station on December 17. The case is under investigation, with similar complaints filed by Kapil Sharma and Sugandha Mishra.
