It appears it’s time for ‘Pushpa 2’ to hand over the crown of the box office to the newly released movies as the Allu Arjun starrer has completed more than a month of theatrical release and is gradually struggling to mint even Rs. 1 crore in its collection.
It is worth noting that in December, when ‘Pushpa 2’ was released it opened with a bang. Despite all the controversies surrounding the movie, it made impressive business and gave the earlier box office champions a run for their money. However, now after 46 days, one cannot expect the same charm and magic, especially with new movies released.
According to the latest Sacnilk report, on Sunday, Allu Arjuna and Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Pushap 2’ minted only Rs.1.18 crore (early estimates). The pan India movie which in December opened with Rs 164.25 Cr, by the end of 46 days of theatrical release has collected Rs. Rs 1227.93 Cr net in India.
On the other hand, the latest releases are locking horns at the box office. Over the weekend, Kangana Ranuat’s ‘Emergency’ took the lead with ₹.4.35 Cr collection on Sunday, while Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ followed close behind with ₹ 2.50 Cr. Last but not least, ‘Azaad’ starring Rasha Thandani and Aman Devgan collected Rs. 1.85 Cr on Sunday.

‘Pushpa 2’ got rave reviews from the beginning. ETimes gave the film 3.5 stars and our review reads – “Director Sukumar’s brilliance shines through in Pushpa 2: The Rule. He masterfully balances a mass entertainer with a film rich in social commentary, weaving layers of emotion, action, and intrigue into a compelling cinematic experience. Despite the extensive runtime of 3 hours and 20 minutes, the film keeps its audience riveted with a mix of high-octane sequences, character-driven moments, and a poignant emotional arc.”
