Actor Varun Tej is set to make a grand comeback with his upcoming Indo-Korean horror comedy, tentatively titled ‘VT 15’. The makers announced the project today on the actor’s 35th birthday. This film is expected to be a blend of thrills with humour.
The filmmakers unveiled the first look of the movie, which features an intriguing poster. The design showcases a mysterious jar adorned with a dragon motif, set against the backdrop of a Korean temple and engulfed in flames. Accompanying the visuals is a catchy tagline: “When hunting turns hilarious,” which suggests the film to have suspense and comedy.

The production team took to social media to share their excitement about the project, wishing Varun a happy birthday and expressing their enthusiasm for what they describe as an epic entertainment experience.
On X (formerly Twitter), they wrote, “тнє нαυηтιηg ιѕ αвσυт тσ тυяη нιℓαяισυѕ & the Epic Entertainment Awaits Wishing a very happy birthday to the ever versatile Mega Prince @IAmVarunTej Let’s spell something sensational with #VT15 ~ AN INDO-KOREAN HORROR COMEDY Directed by @GandhiMerlapaka A @MusicThaman Musical. Brace yourself for a magical mix of thrills and laughs in #VT15”
The film will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, known for his successful works such as ‘Venkatadri Express’ and ‘Ek Mini Katha’, and feature music composed by the talented Thaman S. ‘VT 15’ is expected to be a full-length comic caper, with filming set to begin soon. As per the reports a significant portion of the movie will be shot in South Korea during a 40-day schedule starting in January 2025.
Varun Tej is reportedly undergoing training in martial arts, specifically Taekwondo, to prepare for his role, which will likely involve action-packed sequences.
While details about the plot remain under wraps, the film aims to offer a fresh perspective on the horror-comedy genre, including elements of both Indian and Korean cinema.
Varun Tej with his last films including ‘Matka’ and ‘Operation Valentine’ was not able to make an impact at the box office and would be hoping this film could be a game changer.
