The year 2025 has started on a dim note for the movie business, as the first two releases of the year Game Changer and Fateh failed to find an audience. Something similar is happening with the second releases of the year which were Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency and debutant Rasha Thadani and Amaan Devgan’s Azaad which also featured Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty in guest appearances.
Kangana’s directorial venture has seen a rise in its collection from Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3.42 crore in two days, but Rasha and Amaan’s film has been on a declining road. The film on its first day, earned just Rs 1.5 crore and on its second day the collection dropped by about 10 % to collect just Rs 1.34 crore, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 2.84 crore.
The film has received mixed reviews from the critics and that could be one of the biggest reasons behind the dropping collection of the film. Also the word of mouth of the film from people who have already seen the film isn’t strong enough which might help the other member of the audience to give the film a try.
The drop in Azaad’s collection has helped Emergency as its collection saw a jump of 35 % while Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule’s collection also saw a jump of 15 % .
While Rasha is yet to decide on her next film, Amaan already has his second film signed which has been titled Jhalak and it belongs to the horror-comedy genre. The film is being directed by Umang Vyas who is known to direct Gujarati films like Jhamkudi, Dear Father and Ventilator.
