Saif Ali Khan was stabbed as a burglar entered his house on January 16 at around 2 30 am. The actor indulged in a fight with him as reportedly the attacker went near his son Jeh’s bed where he was sleeping. Saif tried to rescue Jeh and the burglar stabbed him six times with a knife. One of the cuts was close to his spine, as told by the doctor. Saif underwent a surgery and is now out of danger.

He’s currently recovering at the Lilavati hospital.
Several celebrities from the fraternity have expressed their shock on this incident. Everyone has come out in support of Saif and his family. Shahid Kapoor who launched the trailer of his film ‘Deva’ in Mumbai, has also reacted to the attack on Saif. He was asked about it indirectly by a journalist at this press conference. Reacting to it, he said, “Aapne indirectly sawaal pucha, directly puchte toh zyada respectable lagta.”
Shahid further added, “It’s a very sad incident and we are all concerned about it. We hope Saif’s health is better. We all are very concerned about it as a fraternity. Hum sab bohot shocked the. Bohot hi difficult cheez hai absorb karna ke aapki personal space mein, Mumbai jaise sheher mein aisa ho. I am very sure police is trying its best to resolve this. Aisa hota nahi hai. Mumbai bohot safe sheher hai. Yahan yeh kaha jataa hai proudly ke raat ko 2 baje, 3 baje bhi family member hai, ladies ho, koi raaste pe jaaye toh safe rehta hai. (It’s difficult to absorb that something like this can happen in your personal space. Something like this is rare to happen, in a city like Mumbai. It’s a very safe city. We proudly say that even at 2 am, 3am, our family members or ladies can walk on the roads and Mumbai is a safe city).”
He said, “We are hoping and prayer for his recovery and good health. We are all praying for him, all the time.”
Shahid and Saif have shared screen space together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’. They had earlier appeared together on ‘Koffee With Karan’ and discussed that there is no awkwardness between them at all, or no bad blood despite the fact that Shahid was earlier in a relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
