On January 16, 2025, an intruder confronted Saif Ali Khan’s maid at his Bandra residence in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building. Saif was injured during the altercation and taken to Lilavati Hospital. Mumbai Police identified a suspect, believed to have entered via the staircase, with burglary suspected as the motive.

Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan has taken to her Instagram handle to share a statement asking the media and fans to respect their boundaries give them the space they need to heal and cope as a family.

She wrote, ‘It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage. While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time.’
Emergency surgery was performed to remove the knife and address the spinal fluid leakage. Khan is currently stable and recovering well.
In a statement, Dr Dange said, “Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 am with an alleged history of assault by some unknown person. He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now. He is recovering well and out of danger.”
Less than 24 hours after Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times in his Bandra apartment, a CCTV image has emerged showing the attacker running away from the staircase after the incident.The attacker, who stabbed Saif Ali Khan inside his 12th-floor apartment in Bandra early on Thursday, was seen on the staircase of the sixth floor in the CCTV footage. The intruder entered Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s flat through the emergency fire exit.
