The Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer earned just around Rs 8.50 crore at the box office on its first Monday.
This comes as a sharp decline from the film’s opening day collection of Rs 51 crore. The film’s numbers fell to an estimated Rs 21.6 crore on Saturday and saw a further dip on Sunday, recording just around Rs 15.9 crore at the domestic box office.
Game Changer Movie Review
With Monday’s collections, the film’s total collection has now reached an estimated Rs 97 crore, falling shy of the Rs 100 crore mark.
Wile the film’s Telugu version has been leading the charge at the box office, the Hindi dubbed version also seems to be working well. Unlike the Telugu version which saw a massive drop from Rs 41.25 crore to Rs 12.5 crore and Rs 6.65 crore over the weekend, the Hindi version of the film has been maintaining a consistent graph, earning around Rs 7-8 crore. The total collection for the Hindi version stands at an estimated Rs 22.9 crore.
While the Telugu and Hindi versions continue to dominate, contributing the bulk of the earnings, the performance of the Tamil and Kannada versions remains underwhelming.
The film’s inability to sustain momentum post its strong opening day is a cause for concern. With a star-studded cast and high production values, expectations were sky-high for Game Changer. However, the declining trend over the weekend indicates mixed word-of-mouth and average audience reception. The regional performance also suggests limited appeal beyond core Telugu-speaking markets.
The underwhelming weekend performance raises questions about whether Game Changer can reach the Rs 200 crore mark domestically, let alone cement itself as a pan-India blockbuster.
Over the weekend, the makers of Game Changer, came under fire for allegedly inflating the film’s Day 1 box office collections. The Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer hit the top trends on social media with fans celebrating the film’s release. Early box office reports indicated that the film earned an estimated Rs 80.1 crore worldwide on its opening day. However, the movie’s official social media page claimed a staggering Rs 186 crore in global earnings, sparking criticism and ridicule.
