Many families are forced to evacuate their homes due to the destruction of wildfires in Los Angeles. Some saw their businesses destroyed while others saw their residences getting reduced to ashes. Numerous were affected, there is fashion designer Masaba Gupta’s sister-in-law, Chinmaya Misra, whose home in the Pacific Palisades was destroyed by the flames.
Masaba emotionally shared a post on Instagram stating “My sister-in-law and her family have lost their home in the Pacific Palisades fire, just like so many others.” Apart from the immense loss, she expressed gratitude for their safety and shared details of a fundraiser started by Chinmaya’s 16-year-old daughter to rebuild their lives. “If you can contribute, it would mean the world. And if not, a prayer can go a long way,” she added, along with a link to the fundraiser.
Chinmaya’s brother actor Satyadeep Misra and Masaba’s husband also took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the aftermath. Posting a photo of the burnt remains of the house, he wrote, “This is all that’s left after the fire. It’s unimaginable to lose your home and everything in it overnight. My sister’s house was among the many destroyed in the Palisades fire. Her daughter has set up a GoFundMe page please support her if you can.”
Chinmaya, grieving the loss of her home, shared a poignant post on Instagram Stories. She posted a photo of her house taken just 24 hours before the fire and another image showing its charred remains. Alongside the pictures, she wrote, “This was our beautiful home, captured just a day before the fire. Thoughts and prayers to everyone else who has faced such heartbreaking loss.”
The Los Angeles wildfires have caused widespread destruction, with several celebrities also impacted. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Dua Lipa, Mandy Moore, and others have been forced to evacuate as the fire continues to spread rapidly, destroying homes and shutting down major roads.
The road of rebuilding will be long and very challenging for not only Chinmaya’s family but many others affected. Their resilience and the support of loved ones offer hope amid the devastation.
