Kumar Vishwas recently sparked a controversy with his comment about Sonakshi Sinha‘s marriage to Zaheer Iqbal. He had said, “Ek sanket de raha hoon, jo samajh jayein unki taliyan uthtein. Apne bachhon ko Ramayan padhwayi aur Geeta sunwayi. Anya tha aisa na ho ki aapke ghar ka naam to ‘Ramayan’ ho aur aapke ghar ki Shree Lakshmi ko koi aur uthakar le jaye.” (Teach your children the names of Sita Ji’s sisters and Lord Ram’s brothers. Take a hint from this – teach them the Ramayana and make them listen to the Gita. Otherwise, even though your house is named ‘Ramayana,’ someone else might take away the ‘Shree Lakshmi’ of your household.)”
And now, another video of him talking about Sania Mirza‘s marriage with Shoaib Malik has gone viral. This is an old video, in which he is saying cryptically, talking about Sania. “Pichle saal ek tennis khiladi ne shadi karli. Pitch pe dhang se nahi khel paa rahi thi toh ek pitch aur try kara. Mujhe iss baat pe aappatti nahi ke unhone shadi ki. Mujhe iss baat se aappatti hai ke unhone zindagi bhar shohrat Hindustan se li aur shohar pakistan se. Maine unko SMS bhi bheja ke devi agar aapko hitter hi chahiye toh Yusuf Pathan tha, itna lamba kyun jaa rahi ho. Maine kaha, yeh toh chakke maarta hai, woh toh hai hi. Lekin unki samajh mein nahi aaya, jaise yahan bhi kayin logon ki samajh mein nahi aaya (nia Mirza, got married. I have no objection to her getting married; my objection is to the fact that she took fame from India all her life and chose a husband from Pakistan. I even sent her an SMS saying that if she wanted a good player, we have Yusuf Pathan. Why go so far?)”
As this video went viral, the internet is irked and has has criticised Vishwas and some called him ‘disgusting’.
Sania and Shoaib had tied the knot in April 2010. They announced their divorce in 2024 after Shoiab announced his marriage with actress Sana Javed. She is his third wife.
