Defending champions, Tamil Nadu men and Railways women head the field in group ‘A’ in the 74th National basketball championship to be held at the Sidsar Sports Complex in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, from Sunday.
The tournament, played on a league-cum-knockout basis, features 30 men’s and 25 women’s teams. The top-10 teams in the two sections figure in the first two groups, while the rest compete in the next level.
The groups:
Men: Group A: Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Services, Rajasthan, Kerala.
Group B: Railways, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh.
Group C: Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Puducherry.
Group D: Gujarat, Andaman & Nicobar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tripura.
Group E: Maharashtra, Assam, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand.
Group F: West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh.
Women: Group A: Railways, Karnataka, Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh.
Group B: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat.
Group C: West Bengal, Chandigarh, Haryana.
