With a lot of hype around its release, owing to various factors, ‘Baby John’ was expected to set new box office records. However, it seems nothing fell in the right place as the movie, even after 6 days, has made only Rs.30 crore net in India.
Baby John Movie Review
Right from the moment the movie was announced, followed by Varun Dhawan’s mysterious, intense looks, the teaser of him, and a sneak peek of Jackie Shroff as the antagonist, everything made the film the talk of the town. However, it failed to pass the box office test. On its first Monday, i.e. day 6, the movie was a huge dip. It managed to earn a mere Rs.1.85 crores, taking the total to Rs30.50 crore, according to Sacnilk.
‘Baby John’s day-wise net collection in India
Released on December 25, the movie opened with ₹ 11.25. The holiday season didn’t favor the movie, as on day 2, it saw a dip of more than 50 percent, when it minted only Rs.4.75. Day 3 also witnessed low business with only Rs 3.65 crore. On day 4, things appeared better, when the movie made Rs 4.25 crore collection, marking a 16.44 percent improvement if compared to day 3. Then, on Sunday, with an occupancy of 17.38 percent in Hindi, the movie made Rs 4.75 core in India, which again showed an 11.76 percent hike. However, day 6, the first Monday didn’t bring in much money. The movie only made Rs.1.85 crores.
On the other hand, the Telegu drama ‘Pushpa 2,’ headlined by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, despite a huge dip in the fourth week, made better business than ‘Baby John.’ It continues an impressive run at the box office. On Monday, the mass entertainer made ₹6.65 crore across all languages in India taking the collection to Rs 1163.65 crore.
Then there’s Disney’s animated adventure drama ‘Mufasa,’ which also despite a drop of more than 50 percent, came second in the box office race with Rs5.4 crore on Monday.
