Ananya Panday has always had her romantic life under public scrutiny, though she’s rarely spoken about it openly. In a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, the actress shared her thoughts on relationships, revealing how she navigates love, red flags, and personal compromises.
“I don’t think you see a red flag in a relationship immediately. When you’re out of it, that’s when you realise it could have been done better,” she said, adding that she puts her best effort into making a relationship work and expects the same level of commitment from her partner. “For me, half-heartedness doesn’t work. If you are in a relationship, you have to show loyalty and respect.”
Ananya admitted to altering herself for past relationships, saying, “You do things to impress in the beginning and don’t realise how much you are changing.” When asked if she had ever compromised in a relationship, she shared, “I’ve been in a relationship where I’ve changed myself a lot, but not to the point where it turned bad.”

Ananya described her idea of romance as someone who pays attention to the little things, like remembering small preferences or moments, and values offering support. “Support is very important, especially as a young, successful actor. It can get intimidating for men,” she noted.
Ananya highlighted several red flags in relationships, including gaslighting, manipulation, and disloyalty. She stressed that even subtle actions, such as failing to acknowledge a partner in public or showing disrespect, can be problematic. Additionally, she pointed out that ego, particularly an inability to celebrate a partner’s success, is another significant red flag.
While Ananya was recently linked to Aditya Roy Kapur, reports suggest they parted ways earlier this year.
